CARING FOR YOUR DENTURES
Dentures accumulate “plaque” during daily function. This is the furry substance that builds up on both natural teeth and dentures. This needs to be removed daily and is done so using a soft toothbrush and either a low-abrasion toothpaste or soap. It is the mechanical process of toothbrush, water and movement that removes this “plaque”. “Fizzy” denture cleaning tablets are of little value.
Calculus may also develop on the denture surface. This is a hard deposit that can not be removed by toothbrushing alone. Caldent soaking tablets will remove calculus build up successfully but are not a daily cleaning product. You can also return your dentures to us for cleaning.
